Achisomoch has been offering a Charity (voucher) service since 1978. It is registered as a Charity (ref 278387). The main focus of its donations is Jewish organisations - especially those involved in Education and support of young people
They were recently (March 2001) authorised by the Inland Revenue as a GAYE agency and hence clients may make donations directly from their monthly salary - and benefit from an additional 10% for the charity.
As a voucher system, the trustees are somewhat restricted in the charities that they support since the clients control this. They levy a small charge of 1-5% for all payments into the account. Part of this is used for the relativity low cost of admin accounting charges - the rest is donated to charities at the discretion of the Trustees. Since inception, it is estimated that over £700,000 has been given from this commission account.
